NURS 4392 Care of the Adult: Advanced Concepts Level Ill
This course focuses on the care of adult clients with advanced, high-acuity, and multi-system health conditions, emphasizing the synthesis of clinical judgment, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered care in complex healthcare environments. Students integrate knowledge from prior coursework to manage rapidly changing and life-threatening conditions across the adult lifespan.
Emphasis is placed on concepts such as multi-system dysfunction, perfusion, oxygenation, and response to critical illness, with application to emergent and highly complex clinical situations. Students apply advanced clinical reasoning to synthesize complex data, anticipate complications, and make timely, high-level decisions.
The course supports the development of advanced prioritization, clinical decision-making, and leadership in care coordination, preparing students for transition to professional nursing practice in high-acuity settings.
