NURS 3364 Pharmacology for Nursing Practice
This course examines the principles of pharmacology as they relate to safe and effective nursing practices. Emphasis is placed on the integration of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and therapeutic drug classifications within the context of clinical judgment, patient-centered care, and safety.
Students apply clinical reasoning to analyze medication actions, indications, and potential adverse effects across the lifespan. Focus is placed on medication safety, risk reduction, and evidence-based decision-making, including the identification of contraindications, interactions, and factors influencing medication responses.
Students develop the ability to interpret medication-related data, prioritize nursing considerations, and support optimal outcomes through patient education, monitoring, and evaluation of therapeutic responses in various healthcare settings.
