Emphasis is placed on assessment of older adults, including age-related physiological changes, functional status, and factors influencing health and quality of life. Students learn to analyze assessment data, recognize risk factors, and prioritize findings within the context of health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.

The course fosters the development of therapeutic communication, cultural humility, and professional accountability, preparing students to collect and interpret patient data to support safe, effective nursing care in various settings.
