NURS 4287 Care of the Adult: Complex Concepts Clinical
This clinical course provides opportunities for students to apply nursing knowledge in the care of adult clients experiencing complex and unstable health conditions. Students advance their competencies in clinical judgment, person-centered care, safety, and interprofessional collaboration, reflecting increasing expectations for professional nursing practice.
Students perform comprehensive assessments, analyze clinical data, identify patterns of change, and prioritize nursing interventions for patients with evolving conditions. Emphasis is placed on risk reduction, management of complications, and coordination of care across healthcare settings.
Students manage care for multiple patients, collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team, and demonstrate developing skills in clinical decision-making, communication, and accountability. The course supports the advancement of clinical judgment with an emphasis on intermediate level prioritization and clinical decision making, evidence-based practice, and systems thinking in the delivery of safe, effective nursing care.
