NURS 4195 Leadership and Management in Nursing Clinical
This clinical course provides opportunities for students to apply leadership and management principles in the care of individuals and groups of patients within complex healthcare settings. Students use clinical judgment and systems to prioritize care, coordinate resources, and support safe, patient-centered, and cost-effective outcomes.
Emphasis is placed on delegation, supervision, care coordination, risk reduction, and resource stewardship in the delivery of nursing care. Students manage assignments, collaborate with the interprofessional team, and evaluate patient outcomes while demonstrating accountability and professional responsibility.
Students engage in experiences that support the development of leadership skills, communication, time management, and decision-making. The course fosters the transition from student to professional nurse, preparing graduates to provide safe, effective, coordinated, and cost-conscious care within dynamic healthcare environments.
