NURS 4293 Care of the Adult: Advanced Concepts Level Ill

This clinical course provides opportunities for students to apply advanced nursing knowledge in the care of adult clients with high-acuity, multi-system, and rapidly changing health conditions. Students demonstrate advanced competencies in clinical judgment, person-centered care, safety, quality improvement, and systems-based practice, consistent with expectations for entry into professional nursing practice.

Students perform comprehensive assessments, synthesize complex clinical data, anticipate complications, and implement prioritized, evidence-based interventions in dynamic healthcare environments. Emphasis is placed on management of instability, coordination of complex care, and optimization of patient outcomes.

Students manage care for groups of patients, prioritize and delegate care appropriately, and collaborate effectively with the interprofessional team. Students demonstrate leadership, communication, and professional accountability while applying systems thinking to support safe, high-quality care.

The course fosters the development of clinical judgment, decision-making, and readiness for transition to professional nursing practice.
