NURS 3273 Care of the Adult: Common Concepts Level I Clinical

This clinical course provides opportunities for students to apply foundational nursing knowledge in the care of adult clients with commonly occurring and stable health conditions. Students develop beginning competencies in clinical judgment, person-centered care, and safety, consistent with the expectations of professional nursing practice.

Students perform focused assessments, recognize expected and unexpected findings, and implement basic nursing interventions using the nursing process. Emphasis is placed on health promotion, risk reduction, and the provision of safe, quality care for adult clients.

Students begin to prioritize care for individual patients, communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team, and demonstrate professional behaviors and accountability. The course supports the development of foundational clinical judgment and evidence-based decision-making in a variety of healthcare settings.
