NURS 3350 Evidence-Based Practice and Nursing Research

This course introduces the principles of nursing research and evidence-based practice, focusing on the development of clinical inquiry and the integration of best available evidence into nursing care. Students examine the research process, including the evaluation of quantitative and qualitative studies, and apply clinical reasoning to assess the relevance and quality of evidence.

Emphasis is placed on the use of evidence to inform clinical judgment, improve patient outcomes, and support safe, patient-centered care. Students learn to formulate clinical questions, search and appraise scholarly literature, and synthesize findings to guide decision-making in various healthcare settings.

The course fosters the development of information literacy, ethical reasoning, and professional accountability, preparing students to participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of nursing practice through the application of evidence.
