SOWK 6333 Social Work Supervision

Professional supervision is an important professional process in the development of social workers. This course will provide students with theory, knowledge, skills and ethics of supervision to apply as the supervisee and supervisor. The process and professional standards of supervision as a student and professional social worker will be examined within a context of professional ethics, identity and role in the practice of social work. The issues of power and the implications of gender inequality and racism will be examined in the professional development of social workers through the supervisory process.
