SOWK 6330 Human Behavior in the Social Environment I
This two-semester course sequence critically examines theoretical perspectives of human life course development and the environmental contexts within which development occurs. This course explores the interactions among individuals and between individuals and families, groups, organizations, and communities. Particular emphasis is placed on the influence of culture, race and ethnicity on human development and on the effects that oppression and social and economic injustice have on human behavior, with special consideration given to the diverse populations of Permian Basin. This is the first course in a two-semester sequence.
