SOWK 6331 Human Behavior in the Social Environment II
This second course in HBSE expands on HBSE I by using traditional and alternative paradigm to critically examine and understand how theories of human behavior and the social environment are applied by social workers. This examination will provide students with an understand of how systems impact the health and wellbeing of the individual, family, group, organization and community. The formative sociopolitical and belief systems rooted in racism and discrimination that influence systems and institutions to develop racists, sexist, ableist, heteronormative policies and practices that cause harm to the health and well-being of people with special consideration given to culturally, ethnically, sexually, economically diverse populations and people, and communities of the Permian Basin.
