Student Financial Aid
UT Permian Basin is committed to making higher education accessible and affordable. Students who wish to attend the University but lack the financial resources to cover the cost of attendance are strongly encouraged to seek assistance through the Office of Student Financial Aid.
The Office of Student Financial Aid supports students pursuing a degree or certification by helping them secure funding from a variety of sources, including federal, state, and private programs. Staff are available to guide students through the financial aid process and ensure they receive the maximum support for which they are eligible.
How to apply for Financial Aid at UTPB?
Students seeking financial assistance must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year. The FAFSA determines eligibility for federal, state, and institutional aid programs, including grants, loans, and work-study opportunities.
Steps to Apply:
- Complete the FAFSA using UTPB’s school code: 009930.
- Submit all required documentation requested by the Office of Financial Aid to verify eligibility.
- Review your financial aid offer through your UTPB student portal once processing is complete.
- Accept or decline awards and complete any additional requirements (such as loan counseling or promissory notes).
Priority Deadlines:
- Fall Semester: July 15
- Spring Semester: October 15
- Summer Semester: April 15

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
Federal and state regulations require all students receiving financial aid to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward the completion of their degree or certificate program. This is to ensure that students are successfully progressing toward the completion of their degree or certificate program. UTPB evaluates SAP at the end of each academic term to ensure compliance.
Failure to Meet SAP
Students who do not meet SAP standards will be placed on Financial Aid Warning for one term. Continued non-compliance may result in loss of financial aid eligibility.
