Competencies

Upon completion of the Humanities program, students will be able to:

  1. Research and Source Documentation
    Apply appropriate use of primary and secondary sources and effectively document those sources using accepted academic standards.
  2. Argumentation and Evidence‑Based Analysis
    Develop clear, well‑supported arguments and effectively apply research data to support those arguments.
  3. Critical Thinking and Theoretical Application
    Demonstrate critical thinking skills through the application of relevant theories and methods within the selected humanities discipline.
  4. Historical Methods
    Evaluate the study and application of historical methods in humanities research and analysis.
  5. Historical Knowledge and Contextual Understanding
    Understand and apply relevant background knowledge—whether American or global history, depending on the research topic—to support scholarly arguments.
