Texas Residency for Tuition Purposes

Residency Determination

The Office of Admissions is responsible for making the initial determination of Texas residency status for all new and returning students. This determination is based on information provided in the admission application and the required Core Residency Questionnaire.

Students seeking additional information about residency classification may:

  • Contact the Residence Determination Official (Registrar), or
  • Visit the College for My Texas Future and search for "Residency".

Students who wish to request a reclassification of their residency status must do so through the Registrar. For detailed information on reclassification procedures and residency-related policies, refer to the Registration and Student Records section of this catalog. .
