Guaranteed Tuition Rate Plan

The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) offers a Guaranteed Tuition Program designed to provide undergraduate students and their families with greater predictability in the cost of education. Under this program, students pay a fixed tuition rate for four academic years, beginning with the fall term of their initial enrollment as an on-campus, degree-seeking undergraduate student. The Guaranteed Tuition Program was implemented starting Fall 2014. The purpose of the program is to stabilize tuition costs, protect students from unexpected increases, and enable more accurate financial planning over the course of a degree program.

The Guaranteed Tuition rate applies to all incoming freshman and transfer students enrolled in on-campus undergraduate degree programs, including resident, non-resident, and international students. Students must formally elect to participate in the Guaranteed Tuition Plan by notifying the Registrar’s Office. Once selected, the Guaranteed Tuition option is irrevocable, and students may not switch to the Traditional Tuition Plan.

The Guaranteed Tuition rate covers all courses taken during any academic term or session within the four-year guarantee period. For non-resident students, summer tuition rates may vary but will not exceed the established Guaranteed Tuition rate.

Eligibility for the Guaranteed Tuition Program is limited to students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree. Dual Credit students are not eligible for this program and will instead be assessed tuition based on the Dual Credit rate in effect during the academic year of their enrollment as high school students.
