Degree Requirements
It is the student's responsibility to read the university catalog and be familiar with degree requirements.
- Complete at least 120 semester credit hours.
- Complete at least 48 hours at the junior/senior level. At least 30 of these hours must be completed at UTPB.
- Complete at least 18 hours in a minor. At least 9 of these must be at the junior/senior level. Students seeking a second teaching filed for secondary certification in English must complete all requirements for the major.
- Earn at least a C grade in all English courses counting toward the minimum course requirements and maintain at least a GPA of 2.00 for all courses applicable toward the B.A. degree. Students seeking teacher certification must maintain a GPA of at least 2.75 in all English courses beyond Freshman Composition.
