Degree Requirements
The minimum total credits required for a B. A. in psychology is 120.
- Read the UTPB catalog and understand all requirements for the B. A. degree. It is the student's responsibility to be familiar with and fulfill all the requirements for the B. A. degree.
- Complete at least 120 semester credit hours for the B.A. degree.
- At least 48 credits must be at the junior or senior level. At least 30 of these must be completed at U. T. Permian Basin.
- Obtain at least a C average in all General Education and minor courses, and at least a C grade for all courses in Psychology counting towards the degree. Maintain at least a C average in all courses counting toward the B. A. degree.
- As of 2007, students enrolled in a Texas public institution of higher education as a freshman are not permitted to drop more than six (6) courses during their entire undergraduate career, including all transfer work taken at a Texas institution. (TX Administrative Code 4.10).

Below is the list of the courses that are required for the psychology online major. No more than 12 sch of lower level psychology hours, including the introductory course will be applied to the psychology major. Any remaining lower level psychology hours will be applied toward the 120 hour requirement.

If the student completes extra courses under Required Courses Within Pairs of Courses, then the extra courses may be counted as an elective under Elective Psychology Courses.
Minor
A minimum of 18 credits is required for the minor. At least 12 hours must be at the junior/senior level. Psychology majors cannot minor in Child and Family Studies.
Electives
Enough hours so that the student has 48 upper level hours and 120 total hours towards the degree.
