SPAN 3310 Introduction To Spanish Linguistics

This course provides students with basic knowledge of linguistics and consists of a general introduction to the nature of language and linguistic analysis. The course begins with an exploration of the sound system of Spanish and its theoretical representation focusing on the development of the students' analytical skills. The course covers relevant issues in contemporary Hispanic linguistics, such as language variation, bilingualism, and Spanish in the United States.
