SOWK 3360 Cultural Diversity

This course is designed to increase students' awareness, knowledge, and understanding of issues related to cultural diversity, human rights, and social justice. The topics of this course include developing a framework rooted in research and NASW code of ethics for engaging diversity and differences in social work practice and advancing human rights and social justice. Students will examine cultural identity and the intersectionality of race and ethnicity along with other factors, theories of oppression and culturally grounded methods of social work practice.
