CIVE 3340 Hydrology and Hydraulics

Basic hydrology: watershed, precipitation, evapotranspiration, Infiltration, and runoff. Basic hydraulics: fluid properties; hydrostatics; kinematics and dynamics of fluid flows; conservation of mass, energy, and momentum; flows in pipes and open channels. Fundamentals, budget, and yield analysis of groundwater flows. Storm water collection and flood control. Formal laboratory experiments. A variety of laboratory experiments illustrating the principles of hydraulics are performed. Two hours of lecture, two hours of labs per week
