COUN 6371 Professional Orientation and Ethics

This course provides an orientation to the counseling profession, its history, professional standards, credentials, areas of specialization, and the development of skills necessary to create a helping relationship. Students will also examine ethical and legal standards related to professional practice and the impact of personal values on the counseling process.
