SPAN 6333 Spanish Romanticism and Realism

Examines the principal literary movements of nineteenth-century Spain romanticismo and realismo, as well as related lesser movements costumbrismo and naturalismo through study of individual works, genre, and history. Authors such as Emilia Pardo Bazan, Leopoldo Alas Clarin, Benito Perez Galdos, Jose de Espronceda, and Gustavo Adolfo Becquer will be revised.
