Texas Tuition Rebate
In the Spring of 1997, the Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 1907 which provides a $1,000 rebate of a portion of the undergraduate tuition paid by certain students. These students are those Texas residents who are awarded a baccalaureate degree and have attempted no more than three hours in excess of the minimum number of semester credit hours required to complete the degree, including transfer credit and course credit earned exclusively by examination. The statute contains further detail on who is qualified and directs the THECB to adopt rules for the administration of the rebate. Students who believe they may qualify for this rebate should ask the Registrar's Office for further information.
